Genteelhome, a luxury furniture brand from Pampanga, unveiled its first-ever outdoor collection in collaboration with global icon and beauty queen Catriona Gray–the Payak Collection. This new collection brings together the perfect blend of sophistication and the exceptional artistry and craftsmanship of Filipinos.
Under the leadership of a strong woman, Principal Designer and CEO Katrina Blance De Leon, the brand upholds its vision to define its deep commitment to elevating Filipino artisanship. The following consists of the newest collection that was derived from Filipino heritage, traditions, and landscape:
Mayon Lounge Chair
Known as one of the trademarks of Catriona, the Mayon Lounge Chair was inspired by the flowing lava of Mayon Volcano. It reflects the passion and beauty of Bicol, while it contains curves that highlight the dynamic movement of molten lava with pink and orange hues, evoking Mayon’s fiery eruptions.
Pinay Accent Chair
Saluting the regal beauty of Filipino elegance, the curved armrests of the Pinay Accent Chair were inspired by the traditional Baro’t Saya, while the solihiya weaves reflect the vibrant and exceptional art of Yakan weaving, a vibrant tapestry tradition of Yakan people.
With its hand-finished stained ash-matte teak wood, the chair highlights the fusion of aesthetic appeal and comfort.
Balik Tanaw Side Table
This side table features a teak wood frame accented with solihiya weaving to give a proper and best limelight to the essence of Filipino weaving traditions. Meanwhile, its awning-shaped glass top is casting light and shadows to create the artistic display of Filipino craftsmanship.
Beh & She Side Tables
These side tables symbolized the dance of friendship as they portray two raised hands in playful motion. These pieces pay tribute to the intricate jewelry of the T’boli people with their contrasting heights and brass accents, offering a delightful fusion of form, functionality, and other styling possibilities.
Kapit-bisig Shelving Unit
This shelving unit has an open storage shelving system featuring colored abaca weaving as a tribute to Filipino weavers. Meanwhile, the vertical teak columns serve as a symbol of the connection between heritage and contemporary design.
The launch of the Payak Collection symbolizes the combination of artistry and purpose. It is more than a design collaboration—it is a celebration of Filipino artistry and a testament to the talent of local artisans. This collaboration with Catriona raises Filipino craftsmanship in the global design arena.
