Since 2009, Hurray Design has been passionate about creating homes that bring joy and foster connection. What began as a small boutique design shop in Cubao, named Heima Home and Lifestyle Store, evolved into Heim Interiors, and now, Hurray Design—a multidisciplinary interior design firm with over 15 years of industry experience.
From its inception, the firm has served as a platform for experimentation, incorporating various forms of art such as murals, exhibitions, product designs, and artist collaborations.
Heima has long been focused on forging relationships that manifest through art and design. Through these connections, art and design come together to tell stories that reflect beauty and intentionality, integrating the narratives of art into the complexity of design.
Comfort in Artistic Expression
Hurray Design has now embraced the challenge of creating a home that not only provides comfort but also showcases the exceptional beauty of art.
The team designed a space that “would beautifully house and complement the client's impressive art collection.” Drawing from modernist design principles, the home strikes a balance between comfort and sophistication, while celebrating the owner’s artistic expression.
“Every detail, from unique art pieces to select décor, elevates the space to reflect the homeowners' deep appreciation for both art and design,” the team shared.
Art in Design
“A home becomes a home because of the people who live in it, not just by its foundation of brick and stone. That’s why the human element is and always will be at the center of our work,” said the team.
Through a comprehensive and co-creative process, Hurray Design focused on crafting every detail—from significant structural changes to subtle design elements—that would contribute to the client's narrative and embody their way of life.
Throughout the design process, the team analyzed how to integrate the owner’s passion for art, considering their selection criteria and the personal or contextual significance of each piece. They delved deeper into each artwork to understand its meaning, emotions, and memories.
“We work closely with the client to identify which pieces they want to highlight and weave that narrative into the space planning. For example, certain rooms are conceptualized around a singular, high-impact artwork, with architectural elements, lighting, materiality, and furnishings carefully curated to amplify and harmonize with the piece.”
Prominent artists and brands featured in the home include Justin Nuyda, Taylor Living, Kenneth Cobonpue, Ramon Orlina, Diesel, HAY, and more.
Beauty and Practicality
Hurray Design sees this project as “art breathing life into a space, making it truly unique and a genuine extension of its owner.” The project proves that art in design can elevate and humanize a space.
“At Hurray, we view a home as much more than just four walls—it’s an extension of who you are. It’s where your stories, memories, and daily moments come to life,” said the team.
When asked about merging the beauty of art with functionality, Hurray shared that they complemented the two concepts by understanding the story behind each piece while carefully balancing beauty and practicality.
“From our conversations with the client, we were able to determine which artworks should be focal points around which the design would be built,” the team explained.
To highlight the owner’s love for art, Hurray Design focused on strategic placement, space planning, and custom lighting, ensuring that each artwork received the attention it deserved, complementing its significance with thoughtfully designed and well-illuminated spaces.
True to its mission, Hurray Design believes that every detail of a home, from architecture to the smallest décor item, should reflect the owner's personality and lifestyle. The team has proven that art can truly elevate design, creating a space that is warm, joyful, and full of stories.
