Art Lozano, Wandering Engine, “Rolls Royce White” (2023).

From his recently concluded exhibit at Galleria Nicolas, Art Lozano continues to promote the refreshing sceneries of untainted environment. Described as a “quiet environmentalist”, Lozano’s oeuvre actively empowers the significance of protecting the earth’s natural resources. Further, preservation and modernization are presented as the central themes that intermix in his pieces, with vintage and modern vehicles wandering around the artist’s abstract renditions of verdant odysseys. Taking them on a journey to a vast horizon of the unknown, Lozano allows his viewers to ponder on artistic thought as they set eyes on his work – his thought-provoking concept ultimately poses reflections of the viewers rather than reflections of the artist himself.

At its core, “Wandering Engines” is a visual journey enlivened by human perception. With familiar vehicles that amplify notions of nostalgia and advancement, timelines deem to coexist in his environment, creating an illustrative expedition wherein one can sit back and enjoy the ride.

Art Lozano believes his works can be an instrument to propel the message to focus on Earth’s pristine beauty. His dream is that his paintings may urge people to act and take full responsibility for preserving Mother Nature. Ultimately, as he bares his soul through these works, Lozano entices his audience to interpret his works with a critical eye and an open mind.

A painter from Ilocos, Arthur “Art” Lozano has, since 2000, been garnering recognition from various award-giving bodies which include the AAP Annual Art Competition, Metro Bank Art and Design Excellence National Competition, GSIS Art Award, and the Philip Morris Art Award. He is currently a member of the renowned Baguio Tam-awan Artist Group. He is also the founder of “Pugad ni Art”, an art studio that promotes a community of aspiring artists, actively hosting group and solo exhibitions centered around the homegrown talents based in Baguio. “Wandering Engines” by Art Lozano will be on view at Galerie Joaquin Online on July 15, 2023. The online show will run until July 30, 2023.
